Our project was chosen as a Q1 2025 winner of a 'Values in Action - Fit for Purpose Excellence Award'. This award recognizes the teams work on the SAB1 Tailrace Deck Replacement project where ELLIS and Rankin Construction used a innovative solutions to demolish and reconstruct the 22 span tailrace deck without impacting stations operations. The team was selected for demonstrating an exceptional Fit for Purpose mindset by applying it in an effective way to achieve significant, value-added results.  ​

ELLIS Engineering Inc. received this design award for our recent project at the Niagara Parks Power Station. The NPC retained ELLIS as part of a design build team together with Rankin Construction Inc. for a new project called "The Tunnel". This assignment involved a long process of geotechnical investigation and preliminary design to determine the feasibility of transforming the abandonned shaft and tail race tunnel at decommissioned CNP Hydro Power Generating Station into a new Niagara Falls attraction for the NPC.

2016 Consulting Engineers of Ontario​ Engineering Award of Merit

ELLIS Engineering Inc. was presented with the Consulting Engineers of Ontario, Niagara Chapter, Engineering Award of Merit on behalf of Rankin Construction Inc. for work done on the Modular Steel Jacking Towers for QEW/HWY 420 Interchange Bridge Rehabilitations with Rankin Construction Inc. and the MTO. Our innovative design allowed for efficient rehabilitation of the QEW/420 Interchange Bridge substructure.

2015 OCEA Willis Chipman Award

ELLIS Engineering Inc. was presented with the prestigious Willis Chipman Award by the Consulting Engineers of Ontario. This award was presented to us in recognition of our work on the Canadian Niagara Power Forebay Bridge Reconstruction project with Rankin Construction Inc. The Niagara Parks commission retained ELLIS to complete an innovative design for a new bridge while maintaining the aesthetics and original stone masonry of the existing structure.

​The Willis Chipman Award is the top honour presented at the Ontario Consulting Engineering Awards for the project that best demonstrates consulting engineers' contributions to the social, economic, and environmental well-being of Ontario.

ELLIS Engineering Inc. was retained by the Town of Niagara-on-the-Lake to provide a rehabilitation design and contract administration services for the Queenston Street Bridge. We were presented with the Engineering Award of Merit for our innovative design and aesthetic treatments for the structure.

ELLIS Engineering Inc. was retained by the city of Niagara Falls to complete an extensive rehabilitation design for the Weightman Bridge in Chippawa, Ontario. The efficient traffic plan, construction staging, and aesthetic treatments for this important local structure and landmark garnered recognition.​

ELLIS Engineering Inc. was retained by the Regional Municipality of Niagara to complete the detailed design and contract administration for the removal and replacement of Beckett's Bridge.

This bridge replacement design and the efficient construction methods garnered regional praise and we were nominated for an Engineering Award of Merit for this project.
